SNB set back today

Less than one minute read time.

bit of a set back. infection coming out to the surface in groin where nodes taken out. the walk in centre nurse lanced it and put in a saline gauze wick. also she penned the area of redness and asked me to watch for any breech of that pen line. also if i become shivery to go straight to A&E... damn!!!!

the last 2 days i have been feeling very cold and not been able to get warm, now i realise why.

anyone else get this?

Peter, -that is a ashame this has happened just as you were doing so well - please go straight to A&E if you start shivering, shaking, sweating, - my husband had an infection after a PSA biopsy, he was ill for 7 seven weeks and had to have five lots of antibiotics,  we eventually found out he was actually  suffeirng from septicaemia and should have been hospitalised, - so my advise don't delay if you feel ill - make them check your blood if in doubt.

We are very annoyed with my husband's treatment over this - he could have lost his life.

    Keep you eye on everything,

    Best of luck

    xxLynn

walkin centre not happy with the groin so patched me up & sent me over the plastics dept... nurse managed to get hold of SHO who poked and prodded and wanted to open it up and drain it etc... but having spoken to my surgeon of 3 weeks ago was told to leave it alone another week and see what happens. if its gets redder, more swollen or i feel sick then i go direct to A&E...no need to risk more infection at this time!!

    Hi Peter,

Keep a close eye on it & take yourself down there asap if it looks to be spreading or you get a fever. If an infection takes hold it can be sorted with oral antibiotics if caught early enough - otherwise they will admit you & give you intravenous antibiotics which is a pain in the butt believe me! I hope you don't have an infection but if you feel you have flu like symptoms (high temperature & shivering) then don't be afraid to pester them immediately.

Good luck & I hope it's just a false alarm,

    Angie
