Less pain today but still enough.... and less fluid or smell from the wound so maybe the antibiotics are doing their stuff.

Nurse at the walkin centre did the same routine of picking off sluff and chrystalised bits as much as my pain barrier would allow. then prontosan soaking and more debriding. then bandage up. More this time to try and stop the xupad and iodoflex pushing downwards.

tomorrow i have appointment with dressings clinic. maybe the result of the swab taken saturday. maybe they have some new solutions for me.

thanks everyone...

went to pdc this morning. i am back in short stretch bandaging as the problem is now vascular and lymphoedema. iodoflex and jelonet on the wound with a vaseline barrier around the edges to protect the good skin.

thursday going to have steroid cream on the wound depending on the results of the swab taken last saturday.

dressing changes where possible every 2 days.

having to work thursday after PDC appointment, hope i can get my legs into work trousers and feet into shoes!

anyone else gone through all this?

Lynn.. for now they have stopped the silver nitrate and the nurse really wants to grab hold of the little islands of over granulation and cut them all off!

Thanks Peter, - he is improving, with my care and attention but I have now realised just how bossy I have become, - and have actually promoted myself to Matron.!!!!!

Take good care of your leg and keep posting - I am very interested to see them get this right for you. Those nasty little over-granulation lumps, - when they started to appear on my scar I just thought they were healthy tissue until the surgeon said otherwise!!!!
