2 WEEKS 3 DAYS AFTER SURGERY - SNB RESULT (1 NON GRAPHIC AND 2 GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

1 minute read time.

Hi everyone!

The best news ever!!! All the nodes were negative for cancer.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes.

The surgeon has told me to give it 4 weeks before going back to work or just be sensible about going back earlier. He was the MM was agressive so the surgery had to be too, hence the size of the wound.  the graft did not take and will therefore take time to heal. There is overgranulation and still a lot of sluff but the dressing clinic nurse has cleaned a lot of that away to promote healing.

He also gave me a course of antibiotics  as the swelling and lumpiness in the groin was a bit abnormal but he has explained what is normal and what is not and what to do in the future.

The macmillan nurse, Carol, gave me the chat about self examination etc and is something that just has to be part of my routine.

The first photo is of my mum and dad in the waiting area of the dressings clinic. they have stayed with me for the last 3 weeks and have been a great support and comfort. If anyone wants to rent them out I can let you have them at a good rate!! ah ahahh a

Great news Peter about the lymph nodes.

I can see the over granulation, - what is the treatment plan for this, obviously as I had this problem I would be interested to know.  The silver nitrate did work on me, but had to be done several times.

Your Mom and Dad look great - what lovely kind parents and so supportive.  I have no doubt they have had anxious moments about your condition.  Mind you most of us "Mom and Dads" worry about our kids whatever age they are, - my two are aged 40 and 37, and yes I still worry about them even though they are both married.

    thanks lynn

over granulation.... mmmm they are being quite severe witht he cleaning and removing the sluff... i can take a lo of pain so they take advantage of this and use gauze to clean it out. they are usuing silver nitrate anyway over the next 3 days and seeing me on wednesday.  she explained they are rich in blood supply which is why there was a lot of blood when she did it but thye didnt hurt because there are no nerves on them.

the wound is going to take time i know... im just not very patient... i want to get back to work asap

have a great weekend... any plans lynn?
