Radiotheraphy

Less than one minute read time.

Tom got the results of his endoscopy today and although the cancer in his lymph nodes and adrenal glands have not got any bigger the tumour in his oesophagus has grown bigger again since the chemo stopped in Jan.His oncology consultant has arranged for him to have 10 days of radiotheraphy and said that at first things will get worse before they get better. He says that 7 out of 10 see noticable improvement in their eating once things have settled down, just wondered if anyone else has had radiotheraphy and how they got on,would love to hear peoples experiences.

    Hi Marianne,

Toms consultant is quite right after another 10 days of Radio it does start to get easier, and hes also right that things will get worse before they get better but its worth it. Good Luck.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield.xxx

    Hi Marianne

I can't help much but I do know that the Prof (the 'expert in the South) said that it can cause swelling so, I assume, eating may be more difficult for a little while?

Jonathan is only being offered four rounds of radio -  I think primarily to address the lymph nodes but he is due to see the oncologist tomorrow and will be armed with a list of questions.

Wishing you both the best of luck, as always.

    Grace xxx
