Who's supporting my mum?

    On Saturday, it was found, purely by chance that my mum had low haemoglobin and needed a blood transfusion.  I took her to the local hospital for blood matching but she needed to attend a hospital several miles away today for the transfusion.

    I asked if an ambulance could be arranged to take her but apparently it can’t be arranged at weekend.  There was no option but for me to take time off work for the trip…

         My mum is diagnosed with cancer in her lungs & groin, that was two years ago.  She has been treated by Christies but has now been told that there is nothing more they can do for her.


         Since being discharged from the hospital she has had little or no contact from services, including Macmillan nurses.  In the past she has been given equipment from social services & the hospital to help her around the home.  She has…
