Not the result we were expecting

Less than one minute read time.

This will be a short post as I start to process the last couple of days.

This time last week we had just flown in from a wonderful holiday in US visiting family and favourite places.
we were due to complete the sale of our home in France this week before returning to live in England.
The idea was to celebrate our luck at my husband's wonderful recovery from a very nasty bowel tumour.
One of the last things before we left was a routine follow up ct scan which should not have held much fear.

The sale duly went through and as we drove to the port we received the email informing us that the scan results were available. Thinking little of it we opened them, scanned to the conclusion and read the stunning news that three lesions had appeared on my husband's liver and were considered evidence that his bowel cancer had metastasised. A quick call to his French gp confirmed our understanding. So here we are newly arrived back in uk with no home or GP and a diagnosis of secondary cancer. 'Oh Shit' is I think an appropriate response..
