The Start...........

1 minute read time.

S. hadn't been well for many months and she just seemed to get fobbed off by her GPs with tablets and 'come back in a week if no improvement' . Over the Bank Holiday weekend she just seemed to go downhill very quickly. A week before S. had gone to see a female GP who sent her away with a cream .Now she looked very pale , had no appitite , a distended stomache , constipation , constanly tired and was sleeping most of the day and night. On the Bank Holiday Monday she only ate a handful of grapes , half a satuma and a few ritz crackers. The following day I begged her to get a cancelled appointment at her GP's surgery ( 09.50 hrs ) and she also was getting worried about what was happening to her. This GP called for an ambulance...............it was that serious . Now , the previous doctor saw what state she was in and did not call an ambulance , and with no change in appearance , this GP did call an ambulance which probably saved her life and her admittance to hospital brought many thing to light. An ambulance crew arrived at 11am , took details and a long list of meds ( including the high blood pressure ones which , later in hospital , the consultant said that they were doing her more harm than good , she had no high blood pressure and told her bin all the meds issued by the GP ). We arrived at the hospital at noon and the nightmare started.
