Routine is the best way to deal with this time . The shopping was down to me ; the meals , light to start with , were down to me to make appealing ; washing up , vaccuming , laundry .......all me . S's personal care............that was to be her domain . I just had to be about to make sure she could get out of the shower , didn't trip and to help dry her skin as she found full mobility difficult. Each night , at 9pm , she injected herself in the stomach to stop potential blood clots . This was to be for 3 weeks . One day blended into another . Her appitite gradually came back . She even managed to cook two meals for us . A visit by her brother and his wife , our friend and her yong son ( who painted a caterpillar for S ) and S's boss / friend , helped break the days up instead of seeing me all the time .
We had some very good 'in jokes' between us.and we laughed more and more as time went on . Except................WHEN MACMILLAN ADS ON TV CAME UP ......OR ADS BY CANCER RESEARCH U.K. ONE AFTER THE FECKING OTHER . AS EARLY AS 06.10 . I GOT PIG FECKING SICK OF IT .AND ENED UP NOT HIDING MY DISPLEASURE AS THIS CONSTANT BOMBARBMENT . I WOULD HAVE TO TURN CHANNELS OR EVEN JUST HAVE TO LEAVE TO ROOM . TO AD INSULT TO INJURY , LITERALLY , NHS ENGLAND , TOLD US , VIA A TV AD , THAT WE SOULD GET A 3 WEEK OR MRE COUGH CHECKED OUT AS IT MIGHT BE LUNG DISEASE OR EVEN CANCER . ..!! YOU FECKING MORONS.....S. WENT TO HER G.P. WITH ALL , ......ALL .............THE HALLMARKS OF OVARIAN CANCER ........AND THE FECKING DOCTOR GAVE HER SOMETHING FOR TARPPED WIND !!!!!!.
NOTE TO SELF..................I'M HAVING THAT FECKING G.P. IF S DOESN'T SORT IT OUT HERSELF .
AND MORE UNNECESSARY HEARTACHE BY MACMILLAN . ............S got a phonecall from one of her Macmillan nurses on Friday 5th August , whilst we were watching a film in the afternoon . She told S that the biopsy results were back but S was NOT to have to results for another 10 DAYS.!! WTF.......WTF....WTF ......!! Why tell us this at all ???????????? That really twisted the knife. Bang went the good atmosphere , bang went the film , bang went my good mood ...even S went quiet . Macmillan have done nothing for me at all .
