Thurs 9/6.
So......a CT scan on the quick . So quick that if I had gone to lunch .....that being what the hospital staff encouraged families to do whilst patients had theirs , I would have missed this . So the hospital bed train arrives in CT ............porter , S on her bed , porter , then me ......me wearing a very yellow polo shirt. You really couldn't miss me . The area before CT was so small , and there being another two hospital beds with patients , wating to be taken back upstairs . Now ...........the CT sister, a brunette , DID see me behind the second porter , could not miss me in yellow and DID catch my eye !! At no point did she ask if there was anybody with S . she and the porters started discussing who was taking the patients back up . I got out of the way for the beds to be moved and S was just wheeled away without me getting the chance to say anything to her . Now............one patient got taken up which left one more . I decided to sit away from him to give some privacy and space . After he left i went to sit on the seats nearer the CT scan room . Then they bought down a woman in her 80's , no dressing gown just a hospital one , no screen around her and just left her on her own near the seating where I was . Not to make her feel uncomfortable , I went and sat away from her in the area I was at before . She eventually was wheeled away and i went back to the seats near the CT scan room . About 10 minutes later the brunette sister asked me what i was doing there . I made the statement that finally somebody was talking to me and acknowledged me . I said i was with S . The brunette said that she thought I was with other patients further up the corridor as that's where i was sitting . I explained that I moved out of the way to let the other beds move around to get them out of that small area and that SHE HAD seen me arrive with S's bed when it arrived . She denied this and I told her to go away . So ............the tw@t doctors leave the door to the room ,where S had her treatment, open and I AND THE TWO PORTERS , who came back to take S back to her ward , CAN HEAR THE FORTHCOMING PROCEDURES being discussed by the doctors and S.
SO MUCH FOR PRIVACY.
I sat there in near tears listening to the procedure.
Later that day , S got moved to a room on her own ...just to get a good night's sleep since , with all the noise from the patient next to her most of the night and only getting sleep from 4am. S was told that she could go home on Friday but to come back in on Monday to get a break from the hospital .
