1 minute read time.

So........S went to see her onc doctor for the first time today ( THANK YOU TO D. FOR THE LIFT AND HOLDING S's HAND ). So much for all the dates given out at one time ..as was told to me by the SAME onc department several weeks ago . It's going to be 6 cycles of 4 treatments ( so ..6 x 4 = 24 bouts of kimo ) ..one treatment every 3 weeks ............so 6 months of it. And they tell you to live a normal life !! S has to first have tests on her liver and kidneys and will be on Paclitaxel and Carboplatin. The first treatment will take 8 hours. Also , the onc doctor tells S that she can eat whatever she wants !! WHAT THE FUCK !!??????? All the cancer guides and medical opinions state that BBQ , fried and grilled foods should be avoided as well as certain vegetables. So , with kimo causing weight loss , and if it was a case that S only ate salads , there would be no massive calorie intake to make up for all the loss . Also , you are advised not to take vitamin supplements during kimo too. The doctor didn't even advise a balanced diet.....just eat what you want .

The onc has told her to eat what she likes because most of us on chemo lose our appetites and its better to eat what you feel like rather than lose too much weight. Small meals are often much better. This time round I found a supplier of good quality ready meals. They were meant for one but my husband cooked them and added more veg and half was more than enough for me. These hints from cancer research are also very useful www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../what-should-i-eat-during-chemotherapy

    Good luck x

    Thanks for the reply.

But S is not on kimo yet and all the reading I have done states that certain foods should not be taken as well as what foods should be .
