Jack the Ripper aka the Macmillan nurse called today. Shame that S had mentioned that i was there ...just to see if Jack would ask if there was anybody there since she was giving the news that S's biopsy came back and that there were definately cancerous cells in the tissue from the ovaries. Also , Jack the Ripper told S to get in touch with the hospital ward herself if she wanted the discharge letter . So much for Jack being supportive and a contact and caseworker for S. Jack also said that a letter could take a week to arrive . !! Hang on ..........then why did the sister on duty on S's last hospital day say that the letter would be sent out as the consultant had not written it that day .?????Time for me to get teary , go for a walk and buy some compost for the garden to try and make it nice for S's possible last summer ( HOPING FOR THE BEST , PREPARING FOR THE WORSE ).. I left her come to terms with news we probably already knew in our hearts and to tell her two best female friends . STILL no effing discharge letter . I came back and S had told me that she had been in touch with her Critical Life insurance company , who had been very understanding and explained what the procedure would be re. legal paperwork .......and that I would be involved in the issue too .
