Fri 10/6.
Arrived in a good mood but the Macmillan nurse soon put a stop to that . S was in so much pain that she wasn't going to be set free today as the hospital wanted to pain-manage her do to all the drains attached to her previously .
And so we come to this................
The macmillan nurse came in said hello and then said to S ...." so , you've decided to have it all taken out . "
I KID YOU NOT.....those where the actual words she used . And that's when i didn't see her as a nurse but something more akin to JACK THE RIPPER. She didn't sit down to S's eye level but stood at the end of the bed , ....looming like the spectre at the feast . More talking to S and not even acknowledging me at all .
A few mins later , S's line manager /friend arrived . Great , a witness !! She also heard Jack the Ripper say to S that she was going on her hols but if S wanted to chat about anyting re. the cancer then Ms. X would be available . AT NO POINT WAS I PUT INTO THE MIX AND INCLUDED INTO IF I WANTED TO ASK A QUESTION .
S's line manager , in a later conversation , confirmed to me that it did happen that way and that I was not included in any potential phone calls . Jack , as an afterthought , asked if i had any questions as she was about to leave the room . Nope was the reply. What was the effing point . This Macmillan nurse needs to sort out her bedside manner and it has to be asked as to whether she hates men. But more of JACK a week later.
