Stupid boy!

Less than one minute read time.

Sometimes I can’t believe my own stupidity!

I’ve thought that I can now eat ‘as normal’ and manage the consequences with the use of loperamide.I have read and been told that a few jelly babies or pastilles can assist with the consistency of 'output'.

However, on my journey home from work, a journey of about an hour, I demolished an entire bag of wine gums.

I could blame Waitrose for doing special offers on sweets but no this is all down to me. I had the most incredible pain and really thought I’d caused a blockage. I contemplated a trip to A&E. I had a bath which provided some relief. I think just lying down would have done the same but it seemed to get things ‘moving’.

I was very relieved to say the least and won’t be doing the same thing again.

But should packets of sweets carry the following health warning:

‘If greedy gits stuff the entire contents of this bag into their greedy gobs prepare yourself for extreme discomfort’

  • Ha ha Pete, you sound a bit like me with the food dumping syndrome, it's a learning process. Not long after surgery for oesophageal cancer I was meeting up with a friend for a coffee. Luckily my wife and son were with me my son was driving. For some strange reason I decided to have a slice of Victoria sponge cake with the coffee. Boy was that a mistake, I had stomach cramps and thought I was going to faint. We barely made it home and I spent the next 30 minutes on the throne and then an hour on the bed. Note to self beware sugar levels! Still learning more about amounts to eat, just a small amount too much and I pay for it. Take care kind regards Frank.
