After my scans earlier in the week I had my appointment with the oncologist yesterday afternoon.
I have to admit I was dreading it! Lots of anxiety and worry throughout the week.
I was called in and saw a fourth different doctor. Ho hum.
The upshot is that the tumour in my rectum has shrunk sufficiently for surgery! Hooray!! This will be operated on by the colorectal team at my local hospital.
However, the liver team who will decide on my liver scans are based in Leicester and their MDT meetings are on Mondays. So I won't get a decision on my liver surgery until next week!
Very frustrating. And yet more anxiety that I could frankly do without.
I suppose that getting a timetable for my treatment is virtually impossible. So much depends on whether the liver surgery goes ahead. If it does I'm told that I need to have a gap of 6 to 8 weeks or 3 to 5 weeks (depending which doctor I speak to!) after my last chemo session.
So I have to be patient and sit by the phone next week.
Anyway it's nearly the weekend so time to party!
