I am beginning to get a bit nervous. Only two more sleeps. I have packed a small bag but doubt I'll have to stay in or anything. It's a step nearer to relieving the uncertainty. I hope and pray my result is treatable.

  • GETTING READY FOR TUESDAY'S TURBT

I am pleased with myself. I needed a dressing gown for hospital but having to put £60 away for bus fares and taxis next week meant I couldn't buy a new one. I just checked one of the local charity shops and picked up an almost new, anklelength, hooded bathrobe for £1.50!

I'm in a bit of pain today, wee is a bit pink. Luckily I just picked up my Tramadol prescription. I've taken two so it should ease off…

  • WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TURBT

Five days to go and I'm wondering what to expect after the TURBT. I have barely any pain at present but I have a prescription for painkillers ready for Tuesday if I need them. I got some pantyliners in too. I'm cooking for the freezer this week so neither of us will need to do too much cooking in the first few days. Any other tips welcome.

  • SIX DAYS TO TURBT OP

It's six days til my op. My kidneys look clear on the ultrasound but I haven't heard about the CT scan results yet. I'm pretty calm about the op at the moment. We've had to put fifty pounds away for taxi after the op. At times like this I wish I'd learned to drive.

I had the ultrasound today. The kidneys are looking clear. That's a real relief. I have the op a week tomorrow. I will be happier when I know exactly what is what but I'm pretty optimistic. I'm adopting a ketogenic diet, its very much like the Mediterranean diet which is recommended for cancer. Get the bugger on as many fronts as possible is my plan
