Two days to go til my operation on Saturday. I got my Macmillan grant yesterday so I will be able to get new clothes with elasticated waist etc. I got two new tops that are slightly longer than usual to cover stoma area when wearing jeans. I bought two pairs of stretch jeggings which are great, loose on the waist. I've been practicing with the pretend stoma and bags and am amazed how totally unnoticeable it is, even with the jeggings which I thought would show it, being stretch, but no. It's a really good idea to give one these practice bags. I feel less anxious about it and how it looks.
My partner is in a bad mood this week with worry. Even the grant didn't cheer him up. It cheered me up though, I'm so glad I can now afford the taxi from hospital after the op stay without having to juggle my finances. I'm upset my partner is so prickly when I need him to be upbeat and optimistic, but I guess that job falls to me. Still, it will all be over in a few days.
