I've been trying to find out when my op is as I've had the pre-op. No-one was able to tell me. I found out why today. I got a call about 11.30 from the urology unit at the hospital. It appears I have a urinary infection. The nurse said she would be faxing my doctor to ask him to prescribe some antibiotics. I left it an hour or so then I rang my doctors' to see if the prescription was done. It wasn't. I asked if my account doctor could ring me about it. Okay. Then I rang the hospital and told them that my doctor was still waiting for the fax. They said they would do it straight away. My doctor rang me about five and said she had the fax and would do the prescription straight away and leave it at the reception desk. We left it half an hour then walked up to the surgery for the prescription. I took it across the road to the chemist and had it filled.
It's a three day course of Nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic that targets the urinary tract. The hospital nurse also said that they would book my operation as soon as they confirmed that I have the antibiotics. So, it should be sometime next week, all being well.
