I had my pre-op appointment yesterday but I still haven't got a date for the op. I also saw my anaesthetist. He wants me to come back in and do a bike test. Why we couldn't do it then is anybody's guess. So another eight pounds to find for the busfares. The good news is that I'm very fit and healthy so not too much to worry about as far as the operation is concerned. I've been a smoker up til recently, though, hence the bike test. The nurse gave me some tablets, one to be taken the night before the op and one to take in the morning of the op. They are antacids, to be taken to prevent acid reflux during the op. I rang the hospital today to see if I could find out when the operation is but the person who could tell me was not there. She'll be there tomorrow so I should be able to find out then. I expect it to be early next week. I will be asking about a MacMillan grant as well. I'm going to watch Lewis now for a bit of switch off time.
