My new bed is here and assembled. It is so great. It's about fifteen years since I last had a bed but I got used to it in minutes. It's just in time. My operation is on 7th Oct, this Saturday in fact. This was confirmed yesterday. I have to start practicing with my false stoma, attaching the bag etc. I have told my sons how much I love them and my granddaughters, just in case the operation goes wrong. I don't expect it to, Southmead Hospital has one of the best urology depts in the country. I'm not looking forward to it but, at the same time, I will be glad when it's all done with. The cystectomy operation will also be a hysterectomy and a shortening of the vagina. Pretty severe, I guess, certainly life-changing. Dreading it is very tiring, yet I'm not sleeping well; I believe that once it's all fact I will be more able to deal with it. I just pray the histology after the operation comes back clear. I think Stiggy will pinch my side of the bed while I'm in hospital.
