Response to treatment to date has been very good. If you ignore that husband was previously fit and healthy.
If one ignores that the treatment tried to kill my husband faster than Kevin could. 1st treatment induced Pulmonary Embolism. 2nd was mouth ulcers and throat so sore he couldn't eat and struggled to take fluid and needed 5 days as in patient to manage the symptoms.
After a month of no treatment to recover from side effects we/he were given options.
Husband wanted nothing more. PICC line out and wait and see. Advised growth likely to resume in 12 months. He's 63 years and had previously considered working into retirement.
Consultant wanted to resume the killer treatment.
Compromise reached. The targeted part will continue without the accompanying chemo drugs to see if it can be tolerated alone. If he gets mouth sores again it stops.
Husband was prepared to go Oxalipilatin again but current consultant isn't keen because of its toxicity. Hahaha
But it gave husband 13 years and he tolerated it.
We go again next Tuesday. Fingers crossed
