The waiting game continues ...

Ought to update you: the latest blood test showed PSA level has fallen further, now down to 0.142. During the telephone appointment with my consultant she said "it's evidence that the hormone therapy is working" so I believe that to mean the aggressiveness has been reversed. She said she would arrange another four week's course of Apalutamide; I wonder if we''ll have to chase that, like everything else?  Goldarn it, but now I've tested positive for Covid, and worst of all couldn't go fishing with the 'Fluff Boys' yesterday! I'm not exhibiting much in the way of symptoms, other than today, the fourth since the positive lat-flow test, my senses of smell and taste are weaker, fainter; for instance I couldn't smell bacon being cooked this morning when I was upstairs. Usually, normally, my taste buds would already have been drooling before the butty was even presented! I hasten to add that I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I had the blood taken at the General's Hamwic House, where two things concerned me: despite being given an appointment time I still had to wait an hour and a half, so the appointments clearly aren't working, secondly, while waiting there was absolutely no 'social distancing', too many people waiting together in a finite space with no ventilation.

I messaged my SCN when first tested positive to see if I needed to do anything in particular, she replied in the negative, "just follow the government guidelines". So now I'm having to cope with two of the dreaded C's, whilst still waiting for more information about the clinical trials, The next blood test is three weeks from today, two days later is the follow-up telephone appointment with the consultant, then later on the same day with a meeting in Urology with Mr Dudderidge, in which I presume I'll learn more about the clinical trials.

As Lemmy sang in 'Get back in line' : "... All things come to he who waits,

                                                                  The waiting never ends"

And on that note (groans), keep strong, stay focused.
