Back to the Urology Centre (the 28th of October for any reader following the time-line), where my Prostate CNS has all of the tests results and findings. Deep breath. When I last saw the CNS (with the consultant) my TSA result was a "high" value and today I learned the biopsy result recorded a Gleason score of 10(5+5), the highest. It's good to be a high-achiever, although I really shouldn't take any credit!
The CNS was very keen that I try the Macmillan Centre and/or Maggies (Southampton) for support following this bombshell. I have always been a 'private' person, very self reliant, so I'll have to give this particular topic some thought.
The bottom line, however, is that the hormone treatment already commenced will continue, probably augmented by the Oncology department which I'll see next, and then there is the possibility of joining clinical trials providing additional treatment(s). The good thing to come out of today was that I should still have several years on the clock. Fingers crossed then, time to make some plans.
