More wait and worry !

Less than one minute read time.
Well tomorro the 23rd July i have been called in for my much awaited but dreaded PET scan to try and determine the Primary site of my cancer which has been found as a secondary in my lymph node in my neck! You guys will know exactly what im feeling and this site really helps at times like this i try not to burden my daughters with every little thing as they are going through their own turmoil. It just helps to be able to type on my pc and try and be positive and hear all the good stories on here and have such lovely support from fellow sufferers! I l keep you posted on the results! Hi Jill

I know it is such a shock to have a secondary lymph node, but you are not alone, the shock will settle once you know where the primary is and what is going to happen with regards treatment.  My name is Jill also, I'm 48 and have 4 children my youngest is also now 17yrs. I first came to this site in feb 09 after discovering a lump in my neck, thinking it was a throat infection or something as working as a nurse in girls boarding school you get and catch all sorts!!! It turned out my primary was my kidney to which I had a radical nephrectomy followed by chemo. I'm in semi remission at the moment but will never be cured and do not know how long I have to live but certainly have no intention of giving up!! As you may go thru a roller costa of emotions from being frightned to anger and then acceptence of the diagnosis.  I hope that yours is not serious and if you do have a primary you fight it every which way.  I've learned in the short time since diagnosis to embrace every moment and treasure every moment i have and live life to the full. Take care.

Aw thank you Jill for your kind wishes i have had about three bouts of tonsilitis this year and i thought it was just the gland coming up again but as i didnt have a sore throat this time thought i d go to the drs !  Glad i did now, just shows you can never be so careful eh?    So tomorrow s my  body scan and then another weeks wait, thats the worst thing this waiting game, i know im just a number at the hospital but im comfort eating and i think if it goes on much longer i l be told im too fat for any op LOL  Joking aside you have to remain focussed especially for your children who do not deserve to have this on their plate when they are young adults do they????

Anyway i l keep you posted and would love to keep in touch!
