Wednesday 5 March, Levothyroxin Day 7

2 minute read time.

My kidney was less painful yesterday but it was a day of extremes - success if it was the finishing touches to BF's birthday present, but epic fail when shopping for me.

The camera I bought through eBay didn't work, and it took a phone call to them this morning for the seller to behave and refund my money. Now I've bitten the bullet and bought one I was watching as a backup. It's a lot safer but it's more than I really wanted to pay. I hope it will be 4th time lucky.

Then I'd bought a top and leggings from Dorothy Perkins, but they only told me the leggings were out of stock after they'd sent my order, so I didn't have the chance to pick an alternative.  Their customer services people don't answer the phone and their feedback email address bounces. The leggings are still on the website as available so I can't trust it to be up to date. So I probably won't bother shopping with them again.

BF forgot it was pancake day, but I'd remembered to make the batter and surprised him with it...NO, NOT IN A BUCKET PROPPED ON TOP OF A DOOR!  The pancakes turned out best ever, so that's two things I can cook properly now!

This morning at 4am the kidney was hurting enough to wake me and I was starting to get that fluttery feeling that gradually develops into the shivers and then convulsions. So I phoned my GP and he gave me a prescription for Trimepeohrim - old reliable! I'd already taken a different antibiotic this morning so I'll wait until 7.00 tonight and try to keep the pain at bay with paracetemol until then.

Right now it's time for a fish finger sandwich (but no custard!)

This afternoon I worked on another project, getting my singing voice back. Even with no damage to my vocal chords, things probably got disturbed during surgery and I still have trouble hitting those high notes. I know the right note and can hear it in my head, but an off-key squeak comes out of my mouth instead. It's startling, annoying and funny all at the same time.

All the same, I'm not sure that singing along loudly to 11 Adiemus tracks was very wise...

Marvin Gaye,
Saruman,
Whassup Mother,
Salamander,
...Bieber??

Milky drinks aren't advised before singing as they fur up the throat, but I can highly recommend natural yoghurt for a sore throat afterwards, especially with a handful of blueberries thrown in for good measure.
