Had my first scan after 8 weeks of Vem. It went as well as can be hoped so good news... All my tumours shrank and the consultant oncologist was really pleased.
On the negative side, after 8 weeks of Vem I was in a bit of a mess with side effects and could hardly walk. I am moving to a schedule of 3 weeks on and one week off the meds for now to see how I go but have applied for a blue badge anyway as it has made travel and getting around very difficult.
Had a few warts removed, including one on my nose which was a touch painful but luckily oramorph conquers all in the pain stakes! I have been off work for 3 months now, I am getting bored and may look to return if I feel up to it in a few weeks time. We shall see on that score after my next cycle of treatment.
At home I have had the kids off school so that has stopped me getting too bored for the last 8 weeks. God knows what I will do next week but work may be the answer. This week we are having a new kitchen fitted, living in a bit of a mess for now but hopefully it will be the kitchen of Lynn(my wife's) dreams as that will keep my promise I made to her 4 years ago when we moved down to dorset!
So - there we are. I am feeling quite positive this week, almost to the point I feel normal apart from feeling sick a lot, leg and foot pain and the rash and warts and chest pains and my nerve damage in my arm flaring up. Oh and feeling very tired... Life is not too shabby at present so keep on smiling - worse things happen at sea!
