Consultant Consulted

1 minute read time.

Had to make the trip to London again yesterday to see my Consultant, Mr Skinner. That was a long old day.

We set off extra early because I had a gynae op last week is still taking it's toll and walking is really difficult at the moment. I figured with extra time we could use buses rather than the tube or stop for nice long breaks after any tackling of stairs. It sort of worked.

We parked at East Finchley easily enough and then braved the underground for the trip to Warren Street. Once there we parked ourselves in the pub for a tasty lunch and a couple of hours of resting and chatting. And a jug of Pimms :)

The bit with the consultant went really well. He's no longer worried about the lumpiness around the wound, it's all cleared up and he is now sure my hand is pokemon-free (yay!). All the paperwork has gone off to Addenbrookes so I should have the initial appointment in the next couple of weeks. He thinks I'll be getting six weeks of radiotherapy, so it's going to much easier having that in Cambridge than London. The radiotherapy is quite a quick treatment, but it's every day except weekends so I'd have had to stay in London for the six weeks. As it is I may be looking to scrounge crash space in Cambridge to cut down on the travel. I'm told the treatment can be pretty exhausting so it may be a good idea.

All sounds pretty positive :)

    Hi Carol.

It is positive,Ive been there and done it. Yes you will get very tired and it will take a while to get back to your old self.

But you will do it. So all the best and good luck.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield.xx
