It's been a while since I've visited these pages. To be honest I depressed myself reading some of the posts in the Prostate Cancer Group. The sufferers tend to accept their lot with stoicism but unfortunately the families get very upset. For a lot of us there's no happy ending to this damn thing so it's best to live each day at a time.
Anyway enough of that. I decided to give up work as the stress was causing me a lot of sleep problems. I was getting 2 hours sleep a night and falling asleep at my desk at 9am!
My PSA was starting to rise so the oncologist put me on Bicalutimide in addition to the Zoladex. At the next visit my PSA was 0.4 and it has stayed that way for over a year now. My sleep was being disturbed by dreadful restless legs so I eventually went to my GP who put me on Pramiprexole, a drug used for Parkinsons disease. It worked a treat and now I get good sleep every night. I take supplements and whether or not they work I believe their doing me good. I take oregano oil, saw palmetto, circumin, and hemp oil. I've cut out dairy products and red meat also, not that I ate them that much anyway.
I remain optimistic and enjoy my life as well as I am able. Off to the Lake District soon and Mexico later in the year.
I'll try and update my blog more frequently although I don't expect anyone to read it.
