Its been over six weeks now since Mum had her operation and she is still in hospital. What I want to know is shouldnt she of started RT or chemo by now before the cancer starts to grow again. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

You will probably find they wont start treatment until the surgery is completely healed. If your not sure ask. All the Best
My Partner Frank has had his surgery 3 weeks ago an tomorrow we go for the mask fitting...although we do not meet up with our oncologist until the 5th July...so i no treatment will not start till after then...i think as others have said on here they wait until the surgery area is fully healed...just to let you no your not on your own...we are in the same position an the waiting is the worst of all...but as soon as it can start I'm sure it will...
your mum has had quite a large operation and the oncology team will be waiting untill her scars have healed too make her a mask and work out her R.T or Chemo treatment or both which ever she may need so dont worry they know what they are doing and will start when they feel the time is right if it were worse they would of started without worrying about letting your mum heal fully. Keep me up dated and dont you or your mum worry.
Thank you all for your thoughts. Spoke with doctors yesterday and they say she is not strong enough yet, but they have told so many different things and lies you just dont know what to believe. Every 2 weeks for the last month they keep saying she will be home in 2 weeks and it never happens and now they have just told us another 2 weeks and she is starting to give up and thinks she is going to die in there what do I tell her????????
