Results are in

Less than one minute read time.

Well had to wait nearly 1 hour over stated appointment time, do they not realise just how stressful it is, if I had been attached to a ecg machine Im sure they would have had me in intensive care. Finally the sicky feeling has gone I now know what the results are. Hope this makes sense to some of you cos it made my head spin a bit....grade 2 cancer but nodes showing clear, consultant fantastic explained that it would have to be removed plus a node clearance followed by radiotherapy. The next thing he said was when he would do it to which I replied I'm free all week. He got on his phone and I am booked in for lumpectomy this Wednesday at 2pm, says I have to stay in for a few days due to the node clearance but Im sure I can be home by Friday if I play my cards right. Going into work tomorrow just to tidy everything up and then off for op. I have now decided that for me the not knowing was definitely worse that what I was told.

Hope you are all having a good day.

    Terri,

Funny how we all seem to think the diagnose isn't nearly as bad as the agonising wait to find out "what it is".

Now you have a plan of action, something to focus on and get ready to fight. I think you are lucky the operation is going ahead so quickly, less time for worry and doubts.

    Onwards and upwards.

Not long to wait then. It's definitely much better once you know what you're facing. Then you just want to get on with it. You're very lucky getting in so quick. Hope all goes well on Wednesday and that you're home by Friday.

    Good luck

Sounds like you've got a good consultant there! As Debs said, now you know the enemy you can plan the fight. We're right behind you babe!

Waitinf for results is so so terrible.  I will be thinking of you on Wednesday - my first raidiotherapy appointment.  I managed to escape from the hospital on the third day - complete with drains.

Hope you make it home for the weekend.

    Take care
