Tigger is in the house!!!!!!!!!

1 minute read time.

I am beyond excited, so happy, I don't think I'm going to sleep a wink tonight.

Mum phoned this evening and for the first time in several weeks, she sounded like my lovely, happy, positive mum. Not sick mum, not tired mum, not slightly confused mum......just MUM!

Even better, she phoned to tell me that they are planning to discharge her tomorrow. I literally cannot believe it, I am so excited!

She has passed all the discharge tests, including walking up and down steps and making a cup of tea, so all stations go sometime after 4pm tomorrow. She is chuffed, Colin is panicking and Adam and I just want to celebrate!

Her surgeon is delighted with her progress and wants her home ASAP to avoid the infection risk at the hospital. The next ward is closed due to norovirus, so the sooner she's out the better.

The real icing on the cake is that it is my birthday on Friday. I was planning nothing, keeping it low key, perhaps just a meal out with Andy when he gets back, but am really looking forward to spending Saturday evening with mum, Colin, Adam and Rachel having a takeaway and some wine. Seeing mum back at home is the best birthday present I could ever have asked for.

There is a loss of vision in her left eye which according to her surgeon was caused by the lesion, and won't be fixed, but it's only the bottom left quartile, and she'll soon get used to double checking to the left. She's happy to come away with that and no other ill effects from what she's been through, so nothing to worry about.

I just can't stop smiling. Go MUM!!!!!

BOUNCE! BOUNCE! BOUNCE!

:-)
