Friday 24th June day after my Mum’s 80th birthday, D-Day or BC day!! Had to go to the x Ray dept for 9:15 for radioactive isotope injection into breast, it helps surgeon locate lymph nodes. I wasn’t expected on the day case ward until 11:30 but surgeon told me to go there once done so it was 10am for theatre slot of 2pm!!! It really was the longest day but settled into the ward listened to music, read and tried to stay calm. Staff lovely, woke up in recovery feeling good, back to ward, drank had a biscuit and peed so was discharged at 6pm!! They did a lumpectomy and 5 lymph nodes removed and a mole (which is a story for later) I get results on 13th July from the surgeon but am also seeing my oncologist on 8th July so maybe she will tell me too? Wasn’t sure whether to put a bra on, I didn’t yesterday post op, but following advice on social media group I did, have a comfortable front fastening post surgery bra from Macom highly recommended
Am feeling sore & bruised mainly where lymph nodes were removed, pain killers helping! And I did my exercises!!
