Back in their happy place

1 minute read time.

Thank god they've sodded of ....and I say that with a smile and irony...mum and dad went ten days ago to their caravan ...at one stage over  these past few months when dad was told it's cancer,I honestly thought they'd never set foot in their static caravan ever again...if dad had gone ahead with the radiotherapy I don't think they'd have got down this year...but they've gone ....

I was worried about the journey it's a long way when you're up north and you're travelling by car down south ,especially at nearly 80 and knackered after everything dad's gone through, but they took it steady and arrived safely.

Me and my husband are joining them in eight weeks ....

For now things appear normal ,at least on the surface...I don't mention the cancer ,I don't ask how his face feels ,is it still numb, how's youre neck after the dissection,is you're tongue still feeling odd...I don't ask because to ask would put the word cancer right back into the forefront of dad's mind and I'm hoping that for now it's stood a little further back...I just say how's dad ...hes alright ...he apparently felt off the other day ,not right, couldn't walk far ....but it is bloody hot and dad has a heart condition ....but deep inside I can't help but think is it the unknown primary that no buggar could find starting to effect him...I don't voice any of this....

Well face it when we have to....
