"hear my words that I might teach you"

1 minute read time.

I started this blog on my Mum's birthday so today being Mother's Day seems the perfect time to update. I could never have known just how significant that title would become.

Some of you have been with me along the bumpy road for which you know I am eternally grateful. Although I no longer feel the need to be here, I will pop in from time to time to see how you are doing or if indeed my experience can be of help to anyone else. Might have to change the user name though as hubby is still telling everyone “she’s always on Macmillan”

I have just completed a Mindfulness Meditation course recommended by my Breast Care Nurse when I finally fell apart and I guess lost who I was. This has been an absolutely amazing experience, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to attend. Part of this course was a whole afternoon where the only sound was the calming voice of our instructor. We of course had a tea break “and no one dared disturb the sound of silence” as we mindfully enjoyed the snacks we had each brought to share.

That night I had the best sleep ever.

I have emerged much more confident and with practice will be able to be with the moment as it unfolds. I won’t bore you with going into too much detail but there has been a massive change to how I handle what for me would be traumatic events, time will tell if I cope better with these loses.

I would urge anyone given this opportunity, however sceptical you may be to seize it with both hands.

If you’re reading this, my thoughts are with you always and a bucketful of hugs for when you need them.

Thank you for that. So perfectly timed... I was looking at a poster for it yesterday for my son who needs something too. I shall pursue it now.

    Big hugs back too

Ah, that brought a smile, when I saw it earlier, sorry wasn't able to reply then. In the words of Chris de Burgh "Timing is everything in life"

That said, I need to go bath the dog ready for his holidays and pack my case ready for mine. Can't wait to see my son....

Hope you had a lovely day.
