Up and at 'em

1 minute read time.
With pain relief now halved I decided today was the day I did some extra physical exercise. Just been out for a short run with the dog, to say I am out of shape is an understatement. Six months of doing absolutely nothing has taken its toll and my lungs were screaming after just three minutes. Decided I needed to take it easy and just did some light exercises , press ups and sit ups, even they were hard work. Back home and had to have a bit of a lie down to recover, throat really dry now and just can't cough up any phlegm that I know is sat on my lungs just laughing at me...still the hardest part is getting out and doing something so I will keep up the daily routine in the hope that I can once again get fit and then get back to work. Am having to miss going to the army v navy match at twickenham tomorrow which is a real shame, but am just not well enough, there is always next year, will just have to watch it on sky from the comfort of my armchair. Managed two bits of chicken popcorn from KFC last night, they were a real struggle to swallow even when dipped in Mayo am going to try some mince tonight in a spaghetti bolognese. Trouble with heartburn in evenings so now on additional antacid meds to counter that. It's been a long slog but slowly making progress...dave

Hello Dave ... glad to know that you are feeling up to doing some exercise, but please don't go over doing it - I know, nagging again !

Foods, try and stick with those that have plenty of sauce or gravy as they do go down much better. The spag bol should work okay and I also found that macaroni cheese is manageable ( well chopped in my case ) I guess that it's a case of trail and error in finding something that is easy to eat, but try not to get despondent if something isn't right at the time ... there's always the good-old-soup standby.

Take care and enjoy the armchair match at Twickenham tomorrow : )
