As with most of you out there NY Day will have passed in a haze. Mind did too but this time due to the body trying to fix itself and not due to a hangover (Oh for a hangover!) So I spent 23 hours of the day fast asleep battling against infection and trying to make some marked progress with my recovery. I had a visit from 2 different District doctors who both reassured me I was on track and to be a patient patient. I woke this morning (2nd Jan) an hour earlier than normal got all meds down and then had some additional nutrition through the tummy tube. This was needed as overnight the outside of my neck had become red raw and i looked like a zombie from michael jackson days. I was also determined to get a cup of tea down me which eased some of the mucus. The final challenge of the morning was to eat something. I plumped for a plain yoghurt/fruit corner (raspberry). Although I did not get far, I did force ten small spoonfuls of it down into the tummy, and had to then quickly wash it all down with some water. Am going to give jelly a try this afternoon- cant wait, its like being a kid on his fifith birthday. Hope everyone enjoyed their New Year parties and have not broken too many resolutions just yet.
