Journey Proves to be a Grind...

Less than one minute read time.
todays 55 minute trip to southampton was the worst yet. Despite double morphine an hour before setting off it still hurts to sip water, and the car journey made me feel sick and tired, that's before I had any treatment! I wasn't very talkative at all which made the journey seem to last twice as long. Got in for treatment really quickly, but feeling sick all the way through it (not normal) treatment seemed to last twice as long as normal! Given a sick bowl for car journey back, just in case! Just want to get home now and go to sleep (for a month - I wish!). Got in car, apologised to driver, Clive that I am off to sleep, and woke an hour later outside my front door. Still feeling queasy it was straight to bed and lo and behold 3 more hours of solid sleep, what a treat. So with 19 down and only 11 treatments to go, and with the weekend starting tomorrow things are going my way.

Hello Dave ... just to say don't forget about anti-sickness meds if you need them, don't suffer more than you have to. Yes, I also used to have an hour's journey each way to The Christie in Manchester ... it was ever so tiring, I used to fall asleep in the car going there and back again.

One ' golden rule ' ... if you feel the need to sleep then do so, it's nature's way helping your body to recover so don't fight it. The tiredness from the radiotherapy can be profound and it is expected ... take it slowly now and take care.
