Lots of excitement today as my better half arranged for an early appointment at hospital to address the amount of drugs I am taking and whether they could start to be reduced somewhat. I headed for Southampton to discuss with the team, who had kindly offered to slot me in for a consultation rather than having to wait another week. I came out of hospital with a reduced pain relief (less 25%) and the removal of one of my anti sickness medications and also the knowledge that I can stop taking the steroid dose. I also spoke to dietitian and with my weight stable and eating via mouth I can cut back on my overnight feed via PEG this time by 50%. JUst hope my body can manage this change and then hopefully the drugs will be weaned off totally within the next four weeks or so and I can remove the need for syringe dirver and the community nurses having to administer its recharging every 24 hours. I am still going stir crazy in the house on my own during the day. Despite getting out to walk the dog, the days are just so long, lonely and really boring (getting me down). Cant wait to at least get up to the gym, but that is weeks away too. I have a visitor planned for this evening and a Welfare Chat lined up with work tomorrow morning at home so that should break the day up a bit. Looking forward to watching 6 Nations on telly this weekend...
