Garden Pub Name

1 minute read time.
I mentioned yesterday about my garden pub which is my little treat and belated chrimbo prezzy and have had quite a few names being suggested.  Our house is named Stanhope (which is an old car, or two seater horse drawn carriage - google it for pictures) and I want that name in the title.  Conventional names such as The Stanhope Arms, Stanhope Tavern, Stanhope Lodge, Stanhope Boozer, and Stanhope Inn,  came immediately to mind, but I would ideally like the name to reflect both hope for the future, and also remind me of this terrible battle I am going to win (in a subtle way).  I had thought of The Stanhope and Sword (suggesting I put cancer to the sword), and the Shield and Stanhope (the shield protecting me and my family against this ever happening again).  An online friend from Macmillan has suggested The Stanhope Star and The Spirit of Stanhope as two other names to consider.  Anyway I now open this up for any other suggestions from my true friends who are following my journey (serious or just for fun) I will then make a shortlist and a family decision will be made on the name in the New Year.  To comment on this or any of my blog posts I think you just click on the word blogs above, then click on the title of the blog post and then scroll down to add a comment. I look forward to some novel and interesting names.  Most of you have my email or just PM me on FB if the blog thing is too tricky.

Hi Dave.  I reckon you need the word Winner in the name.  How about the Stanhope Winner or The Stanhope Winning Post?  You are definitely a winner and I hope the England football team will be too so you can have a nice celebration in your Garden Pub.

I notice you've been chucking in a few song titles lately.  From your selection I doubt that we share the same taste in music but who knows?  I like Gene McDaniels and one of his songs seems particularly appropriate - "Walk With A Winner".

    Take care x
