Feeding By Tube...

Less than one minute read time.
As I sit waiting for next round of Zapps and reflecting on what a horrible last 24 hours I have endured half of me thinks how will I get through another 4-5 weeks? Fortunately the stronger half of my psyche reminds me that I am now 4 and a half weeks into treatment and infact almost 9 weeks into the whole cancer-ridding experience from my initial operation back in early Oct. Seen nurse who have told me to double dose of morphine and that this can be taken down tube rather than by burning mouth. Also got to start pump feeds this evening as have lost over a stone this last two weeks. So all in all a good visit to hospital, hopefully the trial and error on meds will find me a 'happy pain free place' tonight and I will just have the noise of the stomach pump keeping me awake. Another milestone today, I have LESS THAN 1000 individual RT Zapps to go ( out of ~ 2500)... Yippeeeeee !!

I found my pump too noisy until someone suggested cotton wool in the ears.  I went one step further and bought ear plugs which sorted the problem  Sleep well x

Well done on reaching a milestone and good luck with the feed pump, Dave ... mine had a rather gentle ' moo-ing ' sound which I found strangely soothing. Perhaps it was the effects of the morphine ... ; )
