Day 10 - Is a Change as Good as a Rest?

1 minute read time.
Yesterdays chat with consultant was positive, all seems on track with no complications. Apart from feeling as though I have someone elses mouth and a lack of taste the dryness wasn't as bad last night (must have been the pepsi cola). Will have a chat with the dietitian in southampton later today to see if there is anything that can make the bad taste in my mouth be a bit more bearable. Well yesterday had a slight change to routine as I went in to work to 'firefight' a couple of issues. This resulted in a normal day however left me really tired. When I got home I had a quick bite to eat and was in bed before 7pm and out like a light (hoping for 12 hours sleep to recharge my duracells). Two hours later and awake with the dry mouth, then couldn't get back to sleep until almost midnight (brain in overdrive) finally nodded off for a few hours and then a few hours more. Woke finally at 8 this morning, and into the bathroom routine - toilet stop, 5mins teeth floss, 10 mins brush teeth, 5 mins PEG flush, nice salt water gargle, bath, apply aloe vera neck gel and get ready. Polished off a nice mushroom, cheese omelette for brekkers, and then off to the hospital for RT 8 - am looking forward to Zapp number 42 in particular today as that will pass the milestone of a quarter of zapps complete - Yay!!! . So back to the title of todays blog, is it best to sleep for smaller amounts of time when you need to or to try to stay awake until the evening when you are more shattered, in the hope of getting a longer and better nights sleep?
