Last week was my three year 'check up from the neck up' and relieved to say am still in remission and making good progress now from the throat cancer and RT that took away a year of my life in 2014... Sure the nerve damage and feeling to the neck, shoulder and back will never get any better now but I am back playing squash to a reasonable level and am learning to fight judo left handed!...Still wish for a solid 8 hours sleep without waking up with a dry mouth, and would love to eat something spicy. Got the additional bum deal of being diagnosed with T2 diabetes last month so even though taste buds have come back to a degree - sweets and chocolates will be only for Christmas Day.
And the Cancer seems to have gone, which is the best Christmas present ever for me, but so sad to read all the stories and struggles of all those new to this horrible and life changing disease. I wish you all the very best over Christmas and into the New Year and pray for speedy and full recoveries if at all possible.
To my friends and family, no need to worry about me now. I am on the up and looking forward to a busy, exciting 2017 with plenty of new challenges and holidays planned around the world. Live For Today...
Dave
