2025 brings a new year, unlike any I've experienced before.
In a few weeks it'll be one year since I went for 'that' mammogram.
Tomorrow was meant to be the day of my 2nd mastectomy (elected), which would have completed my treatment for bilateral breast cancer.
Instead, today I had an appointment to plan full breast radiotherapy. This, I definitely did not want.
However, having developed a blood clot in the lung, 2 days before my last round of chemotherapy. Surgery is not possible for at least three months.
After lengthy discussions with the consultant oncologist and surgeon. I accepted the advice, that the least risky option was to have full radiotherapy now and surgery later this year.
Once again, I feel my life choices are out of my hands. Cancer is calling the shots!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
