On my first visit to my GP, in the autumn of 2023. I explained my symptoms. He ordered a round of blood tests.
In the following weeks, I discovered I had high cholesterol. Everything else was normal.
At this point, I became convinced that it must be my heart. My dad died of a massive heart attack aged 68.
After further GP appointments, a chest x-ray and ECG were ordered. Both came back normal.
The uncomfortable feeling in the left side of my chest persisted.
The GP pretty much said that it was good news they'd found nothing wrong and didn't offer any further investigations. I wasn't happy because I still had the feeling.
Around the same time, I received an invitation to attend for a routine mammogram. By this time it was December 2023. I booked my mammogram for Jan 2024.
