treatment 2nd time around

after getting the news yesterday on the phone that my cancer is back , i had to go ito hospital for a biopsy . now bear with me because this gets long and complicated lol. i had a biopsy on this spot 3 weeks ago this came back benign . i had an appointment with the surgeons as per normal at the same time . the consultant did an internal exam and told me that he'd found some scar tissue and would send the biopsy off. he also said he would send me for an urgent pelvic mri . the reason i had gone to the appointment was because i was having liver and bladder problems , so i thought it was a bit odd he was sending me for pelvic not abdo. i guess this irrelevant now but winds me up a little as when i was hanging around in hospital yesterday i was flicking through my notes and found a letter from this consultant to g.p dated 20th july saying that he'd found a tumour during exam . we'll why did you only tell me yesterday. anyway the mri shows a tumour 2.5-3cm in my vaginal vault , it turns out that although they took out all my lymph nodes that the cancer can still travel downwards , nobody told me that either.so i have the results of the biopsy on friday and they are talking surgury if there are clear surgical margins or radiotherapy if not. and i still have to have a pet scan to see if theres any spread, never had one of those before! but apparently they have to beg for funding. i had a clear pelvic mri in april so in just over 3 months the tumour has grown nearly 3cm's thats small cell for you. don't know how i feel raelly had that feeling this morning that it was all a nightmare yesterday. i think my children and family are taking it worse though.... thankyou for all your good wishes sam
