i'm back!

1 minute read time.
hi guys an update on ten days ago, i think in my last blog i was having a raging temp and shivers , after speaking to a totally useless out of hours doc,i was rushed in to hospital ( flashing lights and all )in the early hours of the 23rd. turns out my white cells were -5 and i had caugt myself c-dif and septicemia.i was on a drip for a good 5 days had a blood transfusion and fluid taken from my spine because they also thought i had meningitis .all in all a total bloody nightmare. i think the worse thing was not being able to see my kids i was in a contamination suite so couldn't have any visitors. came home today which has sent my youngest into emotional termoil because everytime he looks at me he doesn't know whether to hug me or cry.he thought iwasn't coming home, bless! anyway feeling a hell of alot more optomistic just grateful i got to the hospital in time and so grateful for seeing my kids! i have got to say a big thankyou for all encouragement i got on the night of the 22nd from my buddys on this site .my boyfriend didn't know what to do and if it wasn't for you guys i don't think i would of told him to call 999 so thanks had my 3rd chemo today just one more to go just got to stay away from those pesky germs!

Am so glad to hear you're home and feeling better. It will be hard for you to steer clear of the germs with the wee ones around. After giving you some advice last week I ended up having to use it myself and was admitted to hospital for 5 days with an infection!!! The thing is I was advised to stop working- Im a nursery nurse- as it would expose me to more germs etc!!!!!! Boy is it good to get back into your own bed! take care of yourself love Jules x

PS I got the Neupogen injections too !!!!!!

I am so glad.  I thought I was bullying a poor sick girl, and felt as guilty as hell.

Glad it all worked out and you are at home.

God, you've had a rough old time of it lately, haven't you? It must be wonderful to be back home and to have your children in sight once more. They must have missed you an awful lot, bless! It's very hard for any of us to stay clear of all the pesky wee things that are out to get us  when our white blood cell counts are low, so can appreciate how difficult it all is for you. I hope you have some peace from all the trials and tribulations you've had to cope with. Enjoy being back at home with your boyfriend and children, and I wish you good health and good luck, with love from    kate xxxxxxxxxx

So sorry to discover what you've been going through!  Think we need one line updates to our profiles like FB does so that we can let everyone know when disaster strikes!

How thrilled your children must be to have you home - and how thrilled you must be to be home.  So there was an absolutely rational explanation for feeling so low - obviously it was already hatching.

Wishing you the very best for your full recovery from this extra burden, and for the other chemos to be incident-free.  xxxx Penny
