CAELYX AND CARBOPLATIN

Hi Bad news cancer back 1cm tumour and fluid round bladder. Told will have carboplatin and caelyx. Has anyone else had this and did it work ,did hair fall out ( told hair will be ok) Also told more than likely would not have 5 years now as come back 4months and 2 weeks after last chemo . Feeling down want to scream anyone good news having had this chemo. Help please Rowena xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rowena,

I am so sorry you must be so upset -I have never had the mix -mine is Taxol & carboplatin & its the Taxol that causes hair loss.

I can only offer you support -it has at least been picked up early & getting treated.

Dont give up,life can be unfair but stay strong you have supported many others on this site -so now its our turn to look after you.

Hi Rowena, I have just found your Caelyx and Carbo link. I was wondering how you were going.

My interest is because l will be having Caelyx for Ovarian Cancer but no mention of the carboplatin. I have had Taxol and Carboplatin before but have become resistant and only had 6 months since my last chemo.
