Ovarian Carcinoid Cancer - Continued

Well, it was results day yesterday, and I got a mixed bag really.

There is no further evidence of carcinoid in my ovary which is brilliant, I may be able to save them now!! But they have found (in the preliminary report) a mild but definite uptake in the Caecum, which is near the appendix. This may be the primary source.

This means, next step colonoscopy and another follow up!

I think on the whole this is good news, it would appear that it hasnt got anywhere too serious...

will update again when I know more x x x

Is it a germ cell tumour? I'm assuming so since it was found within a dermoid? Lx

Well, I battled through the snow (a 6 hour round trip) to get my results today. I would appear that my endoscopy has shown up clear, so I'm now going to have to go back for another octreotide scan and then probably my ovary and appendix removed.

Reading some other posts today I am feeling lucky that this is all I have to contend with.
