  • Yes it continues to "cook" for another few weeks after the last treatment. Well it did for me anyway.

The radiographers told me this on my last visit.

    Hello,

Yes, radiation continues to work for about 4 - 8 weeks is what we were told upon my husbands last treatment in July.  Things are now better with mucus greatly decreased.  He too was choking and felt his throat sticking together at times.

Yes it does continue to work after sessions have finished.  My breast felt really hot around the treated area and still does somewhat.  Christine xx

Yes radio does continue after treatment has finished. So it will get more sore before it gets better.

My husband's experience is the same as the other members have discussed.  He had 25 sessions (once per day) of RT and you think you are home free when it is done - not so.  It does have a cumulative effect.  He felt very fatigued for a few weeks and even now has the occasional 'On the Couch' day.  Be patient - it will get better!  Kind regards,  Sherry
