The saga goes on...

Less than one minute read time.

Yet another bad day in my household - what a surprise! Got to go pick up my 73yr old father this afternoon after he has had a basal cell carcinoma removed from his forehead. Also just found out that my brother has found a mole on his chest that has changed & he is waiting for an appointment with the specialist - he had a dysplastic mole removed 8 years ago. Now I have just received a call from my GP with the results of my spine xrays last week. Nothing was found on my spine, GOODY, however 2 swollen glands were picked up in my neck, so I have to go see my GP at 7.30 tonight so he can examine me etc.

Does this carousel ever slow down so I can jump off?

Good news/bad news Angie, but at least they're taking you seriously.  Think I might just have to move to your next of the woods, they seem to give melanoma a bit more respect over there, unlike here... waiting 6 weeks for the oncologist to refer me back to the surgeon over a new lump in my groin!  And a GP who said the earlier affected lymph node was "just one of those things"!

    Good luck on Thursday!

Well I hope I am now going to brighten up everyones day & make them laugh! I went to the oncologist yesterday re the 2 neck nodes found on my spine xray. He showed me the xray, back & side views, that showed only one small lump at the back on the right hand side. He then examined me & we both burst out laughing when he realised that the xray had actually picked up the VERY LARGE MOLE I have had on my neck since birth!

Because my long hair covers it my GP hadn't realised that it was there and I didn't mention it as I didn't want to be laughed out of the surgery! The oncologist is happy that this is what the xray picked up, especially as he has never in his career seen an ordinary xray pick up lymph nodes! To be on the safe side he is enlarging the area of my next scan to include my neck but the sense of relief in my household was wonderful.

I never thought I would have a laugh at a doctors expense! I'm just hoping now that the mark found on my liver in my last scan actually turns out to be the label on my knickers - it would be worrying to find a liver that has 'St Michaels' printed on it!

Thanks to everyone who sent me their good wishes and I hope Janey's appointment today goes as well as mine did.

    Love Angie xx
