Not ready for Liver opp

Less than one minute read time.
I started my 7th chemo today after i said no to surgery. Dr wants to do colon first, then I must recover, then 2 or 3 opps on liver. I dont know what to do. Anybody who would like to give me advice please.

I think the doc is right in what he has told you to get rid of it all. It is such a lot to take in and sounds like such a lot to have done but try to be brave and strong and go through it step by step and you will live for your girls. My husband was told he should be OK after the liver op, whoever told you people die is wrong. We were told the liver op or getting rid of the liver tumours by freezing or wharever is the only way to survive.

There is another friend on here, Anne, known as Triplets as she has triplets, her husband has been through all the chemo and 2 liver ops and is getting on well.

I am always here for you,

    helena.

People do survive after liver ops. It sounds like the doc said the wrong thing, then talked to a liver surgeon and got it right. The liver regenerates well after surgery and you will be rid of the tumours. The good news is that  they are small so they can be frozen or whatever but they can be dealt with.

Do it for your girls - and yourself. Be strong cos I need help too, I'm terrified of surgery.

Thanks a lot guys.  Reading all your comments made me cry, tears of happiness. I feel now better and will listen what the dr says.  In the meantime I will finish my 4th cycle and all the other appointments.  I will keep in touch. Looking forward to my next session.

I want to share something else with you.  After my 1st chemo my hubby was also diagnose with cancer.  He was treated for high blood press, could'nt sleep for 3 months. Primary oesophagus, spread to liver, lungs and glands.  He is responding well to chemo, lost 20kg.  It's tuff, but we trying to have a normal lifesyle, which is working. We take turns taking the girls to school, making food, shopping.

    Keep well and thanks

Life is so cruel sometimes. You've got a double dose to deal with but you will find the strength somewhere to get through it. It is good that your husband is responding well. Keep posting ,we are here for you.

hi, all i can say is that i wish they could operate on my liver, if there was even the slightest chance they could cut these bloody things out, i would jump at it, no one can decide for you,and my oncologest once told me if we knew all there is to know about cancer then we would prevent it, cancer it so unpredictable, thats why one person might die and another will survive, of course us lot on here are in the latter group lol. xx

sorry just read about your hubby, fingers and toes crossed for both of you.                                                   liz xxxxxxxxxxxx
